Paving projects usually include curbing to finish off the paving area, whether it is a parking lot, walkway, or driveway that needs rounding off. Concrete is used to manufacture these curbs to ensure their lifespan and durability and that they will last for years to come, giving you the confidence to lay these concrete curbs with the peace of mind that they will last under pressure. Weather conditions can influence the integrity of almost any structure, so concrete curbs need to offer low absorption and high compaction levels to ensure their durability and ability to withstand the forces of nature.
Curbs also need to handle loads from vehicles and people, as they would regularly be driven over or walked on, making the design of a curb critical to the area in which it will be used. In other words, a rectangular curb design for a busy walkway might be too obtrusive, while a mountable curb offers a sloped surface onto and over which people can easily step. Today, we will have a closer look at our range of mountable concrete curb blocks and how they can offer viable options for specific paving areas.
Mountable Concrete Curb Blocks
Mountable concrete curbs offer a solid foundation with a sloped surface for walking on or driving over. These curbs are ideal for walkways and parking lots, as well as roads with mountable sidewalks and parking lots next to them. We start with our 8a, a concrete curb block that is easily mountable, with an easy slope to make the curb accessible for vehicles to drive over without snagging.
The 8a is 300 mm wide, with the slope starting at the face, which is 50 mm tall, and ascending towards the back of the block, which is 150 mm tall. This curb is available in 330- and 1000-mm lengths, with the 330-mm version weighing 24 kg per curb and shipping at 36 blocks per pallet. The 1000-mm version weighs 73 kg per block and ships at 12 blocks per pallet, giving you viable options for finishing off various areas around your paving project. Our 8b model offers a 25-mm increase over the height of the 8a, with our 8c model being 200 mm high, to round off the comprehensive selection of mountable concrete curb blocks we have for sale.
