The Various Uses of Paving Blocks
Paving blocks are available in a variety of shapes and colours. This opens a world of possibilities for pavers, because they can be chosen to not only suit the environment, but also match colours of buildings or adjacent paved areas. Kerbs have many uses.
For example, they can line paved areas and keep paving blocks in position, reducing movement. Another one of their uses is to optimise water drainage on roads and walkways, which is an important consideration in any paving project.
MVA Bricks offers a variety of paving blocks and concrete kerbs to choose from. We can supply the necessary building materials to deliver stunning results with our top-quality paving blocks, concrete kerbs, and retaining-wall blocks. Most construction sites require a CRB wall or a retention pond for a variety of reasons. CRB walls are extremely effective for containing naturally sloped areas, forming supportive structures to keep these slopes in check. Retention ponds, on the other hand, are used for drainage purposes, especially in areas with high rainfall.
The uses of block paving include driveways, walkways, and parking lots. These blocks can also be used to improve the appearance of gardens and residential yards. Our selection of paving blocks covers all the industry’s standardised shapes and sizes. Our Bevel brick, for instance, features the standard rectangular shape expected from a basic paving-brick design. The Bevel’s dimensions are 200 x 100 x 50 mm and it weighs 1,92 kg per brick. It paves at 50 bricks per square metre and ships at 10 m² worth of bricks per pack. It is available in our five standard colours, namely Grey, Plum, Black, Clay, and Multi.
If you are looking for an interlocking option, we offer the Interlock brick. This paving block has many possible uses in an industrial setting and can handle higher loads, because it is a thicker paving block than the Bevel. With its interlocking design, these bricks are less likely to move around as well. The Interlock is available in 50-, 60-, and 80-mm thicknesses to match your requirements. It paves at 48 blocks per m², with the 50- and 60-mm variants weighing 2,3 kg per block and shipping at 10,4 m² per pack. These blocks are also available in our five standard colours.
Sometimes, a larger paving block may be required for some applications. These larger bricks offer cost-effective paving for walkways and our Cottage brick is a good example. It increases the width of the standard Bevel paving brick by 50 mm to 150 mm. This brick paves at 33,3 bricks per square metre and ships at 10 m² per pack. Besides the normal five, the Cottage is available in two additional colours, namely Clay Sand and Dark Sand. Our range of paving blocks will have the ideal brick for your next paving project.
